Zabergau Reinette
This apple is from the Zaber River region in Germany. It has a sugary, sweet, walnut flavor that develops after it sits for a while. It’s excellent for cooking, sauces, and eating. Zabergau is a variety with a somewhat cultish following - those that love this apple really love it. Its flavor is truly unique and it has a drying bite. A medium to large apple with russet skin and sometimes irregular shape. Look for this in our farm market in mid-October.
