A Vacation for the History Books

YOUR VACATION HELPS PRESERVE HISTORY

The Landmark Trust USA, Scott Farm’s parent organization, is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on authentically restoring significant historic properties and making them available for overnight vacation rental. Our mission is to preserve historic properties through creative, sustainable uses for public enjoyment, education, and inspiration. We use rental income to lovingly maintain these historic homes and bring our preservation stewardship model to additional properties in need.

Our unique model is shared by The Landmark Trust (UK) and the Irish Landmark Trust, which have a combined 230+ properties available for rent in the UK, Ireland, and Italy.

THE PERFECT VERMONT ESCAPE

The Landmark Trust USA’s five overnight rental properties offer an unparalleled opportunity to experience history firsthand. Perfect for romantic getaways, reunions with family or friends, and corporate retreats, all of our properties are whole-house rentals, with curated libraries, fully equipped kitchens, game rooms, and Wi-Fi. Homes are restored according to National Park Service standards and sleep 2-8 guests each. Our properties are offered year round and include all the amenities needed to feel at home. We have no TVs, so you can focus on connecting with what’s really important: each other! Landmark properties are a great way to get away to experience the real Vermont or act as a “guest bedroom” for our local community when family or friends come to visit.

Four of our properties are either a short walk or a < 5 minute drive to Scott Farm. These properties are:

  • Naulakha, Rudyard Kipling’s 1892 home and where he wrote The Jungle Book, sleeps 8.

  • Kipling’s Carriage House, 1895 home of Kipling’s carriage driver and family, sleeps 4.

  • The Sugarhouse, Scott Farm’s former 1912 sugarhouse, sleeps 2, dog friendly.

  • Dutton Farmhouse, 1849 Greek Revival farmhouse overlooking Scott Farm orchard, sleeps 8.

The 1802 Amos Brown House is located in the Deerfield Valley near Wilmington and Mt. Snow.  This peaceful rural house sleeps 6 and is dog friendly.
