Pitmaston Pineapple

This wonderfully crunchy little snack apple tastes just like christmas. Like roasted raisins drizzled with honey, musk and as the name suggests- pineapple. Introduced in 1845 at the Exhibition of the Royal Horticultural Society by a Mr.Williams who had his own nursery in Pitmaston, England. It was further explained that it had been raised from a seedling sixty years earlier by the steward to Lord Foley, a man named Mr White. Often overlooked because of its size, this remarkable little apple's distinct and delicious flavor should earn a high ranking place of its own. We only have a handful of Pitmaston trees and they have been given some overdue attention and heavy pruning in the last four years. The results of that work are really shining through this year, as their yield, quality and flavor is by far the best we've ever seen. We harvest Pitmaston mid-September.
