Heirloom Apple Varieties

St. Cecilia

A seedling of Cox’s Orange Pippin and just as highly valued across England as a dessert apple. Like Cox, it packs a citrus, juicy bite. Purported to be most flavorful on St. Cecilia’s day (November 22nd), this late season apple has yellow-green skin with a red overlay. Skin is tough, which makes it great for storing. The Royal Horticultural Society presented a first class certificate for the variety in 1919. Look for it in our Farm Market in late October.
