Heirloom Apple Varieties

Malinda

Some people know this variety as the king of the Minnesota apples, in large part because of its parentage to many modern Minnesota-bred apples. The original tree, though, is attributed to Orange County, Vermont, first noted in the 1800s. It’s noted for its ability to maintain a reasonable quality after repeated frosts. It is also said to be a phenomenal keeper, even in less than ideal storage conditions. Widely repudiated to have a pear-like taste, though it is more valued for its hardiness than flavor.

We currently only have one tree of this extremely rare variety, so quantity is limited. Harvested in October.
