Heirloom Apple Varieties

Macoun

A deep red, flatish apple with a sweet, crisp, white breaking flesh. A popular farm stand apple, developed by Professor Macoun of Nova Scotia in the 1920s. Harvest begins late September. An apple best grown in the northern temperate climates.

This is not an heirloom variety, though this fact does not diminish its phenomenal taste and bite.
