Kandil Sinap

Kandil Sinap is of Turkish or Russian origin, discovered on the Sinop Peninsula along the Black Sea. Kandil translates to lantern, a nod to the fruit’s luminous appearance. This tree was a favorite of the Crimean elite in the 18th century, renowned and highly prized for its excellent taste. Long, narrow cylindrical fruit shape with yellow-green skin with a fine red blush; cream-colored flesh. Less vigorous grower, great for a small garden.
