Heirloom Apple Varieties

Harrison

A highly valued, very rare cider variety known best for its high juice production when pressed. Like the Kavanaugh, Harrison was on the brink of extinction, despite once being a widely grown and sought after variety. At one point in the early 19th century, a barrel of single-variety Harrison cider demanded a $10 price tag. The apple itself is unimpressive looking, and speaks to the adage, “don’t judge a book by its cover.”
