Heirloom Apple Varieties

Dabinett

This is an English variety, bittersweet and medium sized. Sugar content is on the low side, giving way to moderate fermentation but its flavor makes an outstanding single blend hard cider. In fact, this apple has been highly revered in England for the past century for its use as a “vintage,” or single blend, hard cider variety. The tree is a reliable annual cropper and hardy, making it a go-to choice for cider-oriented orchards. Fruit is small with yellow flesh and red streaking. Harvest is mid to late October.

Because this is exclusively a cider apple you won’t see this in our Farm Market. Our yield is sold wholly to regional cideries.
