The Landmark Trust USA is a tax exempt nonprofit that works to educate and build respect about our past. You can help us with our ongoing preservation efforts at Scott Farm whether your charitable interests tend to land conservation, agriculture, historic preservation, or renewable energy.
Between the Farm and the Trust, we have over 250 years of connection to those who preceded us. We have their buildings , their tools, their engineering, and their homes. Fred Holbrook, the former owner of the Scott Farm, was meticulous about records and caring for all the properties he owned. We are doing the same by scheduling the maintenance and upkeep each building deserves in rotation over time that protects them while allowing us to rationally invest our resources.
Of the 571 Scott Farm acres, there are several abandoned Macintosh orchards which we would love to see in the hands of an agricultural institution providing a real and functional lab for students interested in pest management, pruning, grafting, affects of weather, temperature, moisture, climate change. Fred’s records can provide the backdrop, the baseline, while students or an institution conduct on-going studies.
So, we invite you to make a tax deductible contribution to The Landmark Trust USA, 707 Kipling Road, Dummerston, VT 05301.
